FAQ about city trips

Cheap cities in Europe

Are you wondering where you can travel cheaply in Europe? We have the answer: Eastern Europe.

Are you surprised?

In cities like Kiev, Krakow, Prague and Warsaw, short weekend trips are the cheapest. The expenses are around € 250 including accommodation, meals, and arrival/departure. Please keep in mind Tbilisi and Yerevan, the nearby capitals of Georgia and Armenia. Totally underestimated and for me, an insider tip, close to Europe and only a four-hour flight away from Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Our top recommendation for your next city trip.

The cheapest German cities for a short trip?

You can take a city trip in Germany quite cheaply, especially in Berlin, Hamburg and Dresden. Culturally, there is a lot to see in all three cities. Free attractions also tempt you. The price for a weekend in a German city is €300-350.

Which are the most expensive travel destinations for a city break or short trip in Europe?

No question, Northern Europe is beautiful. Unfortunately also expensive. In particular, Iceland's capital Reykjavik is costly with expensive airline tickets. Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen are not cheap either. However, these places can also be reached by long-distance bus or ship (ferry) and train from northern or eastern Germany.

The cities of Switzerland should not be forgotten: Zurich, Basel and Bern. Here, too, you have to expect higher expenses than with us. Hotels, eating out and a drink in a bar. Everything is more expensive. You can also easily reach these cities by train.
